FixAreas: Sending, Cases

Form complaints stop asking you to write an email

Once you tell us a complaint went through a company's own form, your case stops opening an email composer and says plainly that there's no address to send to.

Some companies take complaints only through their own form. Once you had sent yours and told us so, the Emails tab still opened on a guide to your first email, an empty composer and “Nothing sent yet”. The record of what you had actually done sat underneath all three, so people went back into the composer looking for an address that does not exist.

What the tab says now

The record of your form send comes first, and it opens with the one thing nothing else on the page was telling you:

There’s no email address for Trainline, so nothing goes by email.

The guide to the first email is gone from those cases, and the composer no longer opens on its own.

The thread says it too

Where it read “Nothing sent yet”, it now says you sent it through their form, so nothing goes from here, and asks you to log anything they send back. “Write an email anyway” is still one press away if you have found somebody to write to.

Where there is an address

If a company does publish an address but we can’t confirm it reaches them, the page doesn’t say there’s none. It points you to their form instead and tells you why.
