Files you upload are deleted on a schedule once your case is closed, rather than sitting on our servers indefinitely.
Evidence is the most personal thing you give us. Receipts, medical letters, photographs of your home, screenshots of conversations you did not enjoy having.
Until now, those files stayed where you put them for as long as the account existed.
What changed
Uploaded evidence is now deleted on a schedule after a case closes. When a file is removed, the record of it having existed stays on your case - so your history still makes sense - but the file itself is gone.
You can still delete anything yourself, at any time, and that has always been true. This is about what happens when you simply move on with your life, which is what most people do once a complaint is settled.
